Bio-Techne provides life science research tools with hundreds of thousands of specialized biological reagents, antibodies, and custom pricing schedules. Evaluating tier pricing and customer contract terms dynamically during search browsing was causing severe database locks and slow response times.

Data Realm decoupled the catalog search infrastructure from the transactional database. We implemented an edge-cached pricing calculation engine that compiles account matrices into fast memory lookups.
